The Leander wrestling program forged together more and more as a team as the season progressed, culminating in several Lions earning a trip to the UIL State Wrestling Championships Friday and Saturday.

The Rangers brains and brawn advanced 10 wrestlers to the Region Meet Saturday in San Antonio, Cedar Park has six advancing and two Leander wrestlers are advancing as well.

Taking down two opponents that gave them trouble earlier this season, the Rouse wrestling team brought home its first piece of “hardware” with a second-place trophy from the McCallum Tournament Jan. 16 at the Delco Center in Austin.
