After a whirlwind of talks, signing, flights, physicals, more flights and more testing, Michael Reed signed a professional contract with the Milwaukee Brewers organization last week and played his first game soon thereafter.

Reed’s life changed with a few words June 7, as the Leander graduate heard his name called on TV when the Milwaukee Brewers selected him in the fifth round (161st overall) of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
