Speculation became reality Monday morning as Vista Ridge, Cedar Park and Rouse high schools were reclassified to Conference 4A, District 25, where they will be joined by current 4A State Champion Lake Travis.

Meanwhile, Leander High School remains in 5A, District 16 with recognizable Round Rock foes from previous district alignments.

As of 9 a.m, Monday, the University Interscholastic League announced its official biennial realignment and reclassification information regarding the 2010-2012 Official Football and 2010-11 Official Basketball District Alignment. The new District 16-5A and District 25-4A will feature seven teams each, with 16-5A featuring Georgetown, Pflugerville, Round Rock, McNeil, Stony Point and Westwood in addition to Leander.

District 25-4A is comprised of Lake Travis, Vandegrift, Dripping Springs, Marble Falls, Rouse, Vista Ridge and Cedar Park.

The new districts pertaining to the area, and the official conference population limits as provided by the UIL:

Conference 5A: 2065 and above, 245 schools

Conference 4A: 990-2064, 246 schools

Conference 3A: 430-989, 190 schools

Conference 2A: 200-429, 229 schools

Conference 1A: 199 and below, 382 basketball schools; 167 Eleven-Man Football Schools; 130 Six-Man Football Schools
